Description (last modified by theli) (diff)

Hello,

It would be cool if we can manage multiple artist for a song. Explanation :

  • The ID3 tag do not permit it. So it is a bit

difficult. But we can store multiple artist name as "artist1 & artist2 & ...".

  • In the Listen interface, in the browser, instead of

"artist1 & artist2 & ...", we could have a real multiple artist managment for a song. This can be a bit cleaner and useful.

  • I think that the design of the interface to manage

ID3 tag with multiple artists is a bit difficult.

Great job ! Thanks for all.

In fact the best idea (I think) is that the UI be exactly the same as today, but when we have "artist1 & artist2 & ..." in a artist's tag then the database of listen souhld manage multiple artists for this song.

The new 0.5 version is unbelivable !

Thanks for your work, Sébastien Bertrand.

That's something I also miss (when I used Windows, I tagged my library with "Artist" and "Componist" Tag), that gives better flexibility: I sort my files by Genre, Artist, Album and so I see only the "Main"-Artist in the browser. In the files-view I enabled only Componist instead of Artist, so I could see additional Artists (and they don't clutter the browser).

But in Linux I didn't find a single player that was able to display the Componist-Tag.
