Listen 0.5 is out - 13/02/2007
Listen has not been updated for several months since I have moved, I got a new job and, as a result, I did not have many time to work on it.
Now that I have settled down properly, I can work on it again, after 4 months of inactivity.
listen 0.5 is finally released and you can download it here

Backend :
Listen have now a new library backend
This one improved the performances, allows to watch a directory to update it automatically with new metadatas, new files or deleted files
All lasting library manipulations are now in background.
Such as import a directory, download podcast, sync ipod...
For wikipedia and lyrics , html rendering use gtkmozembed instead of gtkhtml, the navigation speed are increased and wikipedia navigation no longer crashes or freezes listen.
Metadata : Edition of metadata have been changed, you can more easily edit it or automatically retrieve informations from musicbrainz. Dynamic playlist has been improved. They have other servers to retrieve lyrics and album covers Fetch more informations on last.fm
New feature : You can create automatic playlists with many filters. Webradio allows to browse Shoutcast directory. "Now playling" playlist can be queue songs like amarok does, to choose the order in which the playlist must be read A new display mode was added: "party mode"
UI Enhancement : Podcast usability have been improved. You can browse your filesystem directly in listen and it displays the metadata under the browser. Listen UI has been reviewed, all the menus have changed, keybinding have been added. The songs view have been improved too, you can resize columns and select which column you want to display. You can change font, color, and size of lyrics and wikipeda web page correctly.
Listen is an audio player written in Python. Thanks to it, you can easily organize your music collections.
It supports many features such as Podcasts management, browse Shoutcast directory.
It provides a direct access to lyrics, lastfm and wikipedia informations.
It intuitively creates playlists for you by retrieving informations from lastfm and what you most frequently listen to.
